FEBRUARY 23rd Kyonte

Super producer and songwriter, Kyonte’, recognized for his Grammy Nominated work with Raheem DeVaughn and Ledisi, steps from behind the writer’s table torelease his debut album “831 Vol. 1: What’s that Sound?” on February 23, 2010.

831 Vol. 1: What’s That Sound‘s diverse album content reflects Kyonte’ssongwriting ability which transcends life and love into the perfect musical melodiesthat speak to the soul. When you ask Kyonte the true meaning of “831 Vol. 1:What’s that Sound, he says “Eight Letters. Three Words. One Meaning. A love reflective of body language. That not only reflects love a person or one thing but more of a love for living and experience life”

The album’s lead single “Body Shop” shows Kyonte’s musical versatility with an up-tempo club banger about inviting an already perfect woman to his life or “shop” for display. “Tonite”, the album’ssecond single, keeps the production simple with a smooth underlying strum of piano keys similar to Alicia Keys.

831Vol. 1: What’s that Sound” will be available February 23, 2010 at the legendary Blues Alley in Washington, DC with a special album release show at 8 and 10pm

FEBRUARY 23rd: Chrisette Michelle at 9:30club with Laura Izibor

It has been two years since sultry voiced singer Chrisette Michele released her debut I Am. Blessed with a gorgeous instrument and described as a “soulful songbird” by Entertainment Weekly, she proved to the world that she could live up to the hype. Nominated for a BET Award for Best New Artist as well as two Grammys, I Am was both a critical success and a fans delight. Still, when it came time to begin recording her follow-up, Epiphany, she realized the need to challenge herself.

Good info. Thanks for posting. DC sounds like Philly, were the local artists have to go away then come back to get props in their own hometown.
