All About Whipping My Hair (videos)

The last few weeks the internet has been abuzz with videos and posts about cute Sesame Street characters and bad “Ghetto Fab” Halloween Afro Wigs.  And just yesterday, Willow Smith’s official Whip My Hair video was released. (I’ve been looking at proposed choreography for that video for a few weeks now, and I like how the final product came together.)

Real Quick: It’s funny (by funny I mean sad) how black women can receive completely different messages in the span of two weeks. It went from your hair is beautiful on Sesame Street, to Kohl’s straight disrespecting our uniqueness the next week. Kohl’s was selling the Ghetto Fab wig and the twittersphere quickly took them to task. The offense was removed from their website after we told them we didn’t like it. Questions: how do you feel about the Kohl’s Ghetto Wig fiasco? Do you think we’re a little too excited about Willow Smith? Is her song age appropriate? or rather, should grown women calm down about a song from a 9 year old?

If Christina & The Dream Can’t Make It…

I’m sad to say that Christina Milian and The Dream will be getting divorced.

So Sad.

I’m giving up on relationships. What is there to try for? If Christina and The Dream can’t make it, what hope do the rest of us have?

The couple have been separated since late last year, but kept their martial problems quiet, probably to protect the baby girl that they had in February of this year.

I know one thing, Christina will be able to pawn that 6 carat ring Dream bought her from Ivanka Trump’s jewelry line…

and I hope she saved her money from the exclusive picture rights she sold of her and baby Violet. (I mean, I could barely find any pics of that little tyke ANYWHERE.}

Let me commend her for that.  I mean, I like Christina, especially since seeing her in “Be Cool”

But ole girl, from Southern Maryland (Waldorf if I remember correctly) isn’t exactly racking in the roles and her songs aren’t topping the charts.

The news of the pending divorce emerged after pictures of The Dream Nasty Cheater, hit the net. He’s seen frolicking and wearing NOT ENOUGH CLOTHES TO COVER THAT NASTY GUT, with an “assistant.” That chick is worse than “Company” – as in, I have “company” right now. {UPDATE: The Hussy’s name is Melissa Santiago}

As @SocialDani put it: What’s more offensive? Public display of man boobs or staging canoodling photos w/your assistant while wife & 5 month old are @ home?

Good luck homegirl. Don’t spend too much time on Robertson. Take care of that baby and get back in the studio. {The name of Christina’s upcoming album was tentatively entitled, Elope. The two eloped last September in Las Vegas and tied the knot a second time in Rome in December} Rethink that title honey.

They Grow up So Fast

It may be Jaden’s movie but Willow Smith, both spawn of Will and Jada Pickett Smith, stole the show from her brother with a fashion forward (for a nine year old) ensemble at the LA premiere of The Karate Kid.

I posted the Trailer here a few months back because it’s so HOT! I love the athleticism of this young kid. And if my last name was Smith, I’d definitely be trying to cash in on Daddy (and Mommy’s) fame with a few jobs of my own. I wonder how much Lil Jaden made with this movie?

But back to the point, Willow steals the show. But is her outfit too much for a 9 year old?  Will she be the future of celebrity kid foolishness, recently discussed on ThePBG’s Dirty Pretty Thangs.
